On a pause during the Corona virus lock down, The Good Beer teamed up with Pozible, Hop On Brewery Tours and eight independent craft breweries from across Australia to launch and run the ‘A Good Beer Always Helps’ campaign to raise donations to shout Aussie essential workers a gift of local craft beers.
The aim: to thank them for their care, courage and generosity in keeping us safe and keeping our country going during the COVID-19 pandemic.
‘A Good Beer Always Helps’ has already raised $52, 253 in donations - thanking 2,600+ essential workers, with a gift of a local craft beers, and supporting local craft breweries at a challenging time too.
Essential workers have received gifts of beer from campaign partners and supporters, Newstead Brewery in Brisbane (QLD), Modus Operandi in Mona Vale (NSW), Capital Brewing in Canberra (ACT), Van Diemen in North Tasmania (TAS), Moo Brew in Hobart (TAS), Stomping Ground in Melbourne (VIC), Sparkke in Adelaide (SA) and Sobah Non Alcoholic Beverages.
Kathryn Robinson, a mental health nurse at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane said: “This has been the toughest period of time I can remember in all my eight years as a registered nurse. We do these jobs because we love them but it’s just great to have someone shout you a beer to let you know they appreciate what you’re doing for the community.”
With 10,000 essential workers registered for a gift of local craft beers, The Good Beer Co has teamed up with Founders First, BWS and Dan Murphys to create a 'limited edition' case of 16 craft beers.
The 'A Good Beer Always Helps’ campaign case will be on sale in over 1000 BWS and Dan Murphy’s stores from Friday 26 June, with a donation from each case going to support the campaign.
The independent craft collection features sixteen breweries including the campaign’s eight foundation partners: Newstead Brewing Co, Sparkke, Modus Operandi, Capital Brewing Co, Stomping Ground Brewing Co, Moo Brew, Van Dieman, and non-alcoholic craft beer company Sobah. It will also include beers from the Founders First portfolio: Ballistic Beer, Slipstream, Sauce, Foghorn and Jetty Road, as well as Beer Farm, Bright and Stone and Wood.
Thanks to the campaign case and the additional support, The Good Beer Co and all sixteen breweries featured in the case are now working to gift all 10,000 essential workers who registered during the first phase of the campaign, a 4 pack of local craft beers.

Great Barrier Beer
Great Barrier Beer Australian Lager is helping to fund the work of the Australian Marine Conservation Society and their Fight for Our Reef campaign to call for urgent action protect the Great Barrier Reef from climate change and pollution.
Pale Tail
Pale Tail session Pale Ale helped fund and support the work of RSPCA QLD to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home animals in need.
Love Beer
During the 2017 Postal survey on Same Sex Marriage, The Good Beer Co. was proud to join forces with Bright Brewery and the Australian Marriage Equality Campaign to promote Love Beer for a Yes vote to marriage equality and to love.
The beer supported events in all major capital cities and brought together a coalition of over 30 independent craft breweries and many more pubs, bars and venues across Australia in support of Yes.
The Great Get Together Pale Ale
In the UK, The Good Beer Co created a coalition of brewers to create, brew and sell Great Get Together Pale Ale in aid of the Jo Cox Foundation. Working with Adnams and another 16 UK breweries, the beer was brewed to help people across the UK enjoy Great Get Togethers with family, friends, colleagues, neighbours and their local community.
