GREAT BARRIER BEER – AUSTRALIA

Two of our leading partners for Great Barrier Beer are the Australian Marine Conservation Society and Bargara Brewing Company.

The AMCS is an independent national charity responsible for protecting Australia’s ocean wildlife and their homes for over 50 years. It’s thanks to them the Great Barrier Reef is a recognised marine national park with World Heritage Status. A small and hard working team, board and patrons that include novelist Tim Winton lead their work. As an organisation they punch above their weight to make sure the reef is protected for future generations.

Taking an environmentally responsible approach to brewing, the Bargara Brewing Company is committed to using the best Australian ingredients to produce the best beers. Founded in 2014 by six mates from the little seaside village of Bargara, they’re passionate about good craft beer. And they’re getting behind their local community with fantastic brew house in the heart of Bundaberg and a commitment to supporting local farmers, businesses and people.

As a social enterprise, The Good Beer Co. is proud to work with people and organisations that share our commitment to making the world a better place.

For our legal advice we work with Melbourne based  BCorp, Clearpoint CounselIn the shorts  is CEO and General Counsel,  Joel, an important advisor to James from day one. He’s  often out  supporting The Good Beer Co. in Melbourne, like our launch event at Foresters Pub in Collingwood and here enjoying a Great Barrier Beer in the sunshine  at the Sustainable Living Festival “Good Beer Bar”.

Our accountants are a BCorp too, Brisbane based O Connells OBM. Like Joel, Director Adam, our accountant Steve and the team are great supporters as well as keeping James in line financially. They are regulars at events like our “Lunch for the Reef” at Esquire restaurant, our Zambrero Queensland partnership launch in Nundah and our crowd fund launch at Billy Kart in Brisbane’s West End.

We’re  proud to be supported by Winangali Logistics, an independent logistics company with a focus of training and employing Indigenous Australians across its operations.

In the  picture are  Tycho and Joel from Winangali with James meeting QLD Small Business Minister Leanne Enoch MP and James’s  local MP and big  supporter, Di Farmer MP.

And we’re very ably assisted by Matt, Larissa and the team at FivebyFive Global. James first met Matt at a Good for Nothing event at Google HQ in Sydney, linking good people in the Aussie creative industries with good social enterprises. Ever since Matt has been a great advisor and the FBF team have done brilliant work on our BWS launch (check out this pic of Tash from FBF interviewing Sid from BWS) our Zambrero launch (check out the video below), our ING Direct Dreamstarter crowd fund campaign and our brand and marketing strategy.

And here are just a few of the other great organisations The Good Beer Co. is proud to work with in Australia:

Carnival Cruises and P&O Cruises Australia

We’re very proud that Great Barrier Beer is stocked on P&O Australia’s cruise ship fleet.

Carnival Cruises Australia Executive Chair Ann Sherry is a big supporter of The Good Beer Co. and commenting on our partnership said: “It’s a story about growing that enterprise and the value of that being reinvested in the reef, which has a much longer-term impact than a donation.”

P&O Cruises President Sture Myrmell also commented: “Our guests can now sit on the ship’s open deck enjoying a craft Great Barrier Beer and, at the same time, taking their own small step to give back to the Reef. So they can ‘have one for the Reef’ responsibly, knowing they are helping contribute to a worthy cause.”

Here’s Ann Sherry with James and ING Direct Australia Head of Corporate Affairs (Ann is a Board member of  ING Direct Australia) at the launch of ING Direct Australia’s new Sydney HQ. You can read the full interview with Ann in Gourmet Traveller here and have a look at P&O Australia’s statement on their partnership with The Good Beer Co. here.

BWS

Great Barrier Beer has been stocked in over 100 BWS bottle shops across sunny Queensland, from Ipswich in the South East to Port Douglas in the tropical far north.

Here’s Sid from BWS and Josh from Great Barrier Beer’s charity partner the Australian Marine Conservation Society with James at the launch of our partnership with BWS in beautiful Cairns, gateway to the Great Barrier Reef.

And check out the video we made at the launch where we were joined by journalists from Sky News, Channel Nine Queensland, the Courier Mail, the Cairns Post and ABC Far North Queensland.

Zambrero

Great Barrier Beer is stocked in Zambrero restaurants in Queensland and part of a “double the goodness” good beer and good burrito promotion.

The Good Beer  Co. is proud to be working with Zambrero, the original “Mexican with a Mission” restaurant franchise and humanitarian enterprise committed to tackling world hunger through its Plate 4 Plate initiative.

Check out the video we made at our launch at Zambrero restaurant in Nundah, South East Queensland.

GREAT GET TOGETHER PALE ALE – UK

We’re proud to have initiated and been part of the Great Get Together Pale Ale – a ground breaking collaboration.

In aid of the Jo Cox Foundation, the beer was brewed to help people across the UK enjoy Great Get Togethers with family, friends, colleagues, neighbours and their local community.

Made with the ideals of The Great Get Together in mind, the beer is a work of collaboration. It brings together brewers and makers – AdnamsArkellsCliff QuayElgoodsFullers,  The Good Beer Co, HarviestounJoseph HoltJoulesJ W LeesMarstonsPalmersSt AustellTheakstonsThornbridge and Woodfordes; and suppliers – Simpsons Malt for the malt, Charles Faram for the hops and OI the glass for the bottles.

All donated their expertise, time, produce, and support and 100 percent of the profits from the Great Get Together Pale Ale will go to the Jo Cox Foundation. The Foundation’s work brings together communities across the UK in the spirit of Jo’s words: “We have far more in common, than that which divides us.”

In the pictures are James with Adnams Head Brewer and all round Great Get Together Pale Ale legend, Fergus at their brewery in beautiful Southwold, Suffolk and with Iona and James from the Jo Cox Foundation in London.
